If a leasing company owns a vehicle, the lessee cannot sign a Power of Attorney HSMV 82995 to grant a dealership the authority to transfer interest in the vehicle. (Note: HSMV 82995 is not available online.) Power of Attorney (HSMV 82995)
The leasing company must complete the "Transfer of Title by Seller" section on the Florida Title. When the dealership sells the vehicle to a retail purchaser, they must sign the title for transfer. The dealership cannot use a Power of Attorney HSMV 82995 for this transaction.
The above described situation does not meet the criteria for use of the Power of Attorney HSMV 82995.

If your customer does not receive their Florida Certificate of Title, please have them contact the Tax Collector's Office. A replacement title can be applied for at any office. A fee may be applicable, depending on the customer's situation. Returned Titles

The Department of Motor Vehicles has revised the title application form HSMV 82040. This revision may require recalibration of your application printers. This revision form is available, however, you may continue to use your current supply of forms. Form Revision
The state of Florida has converted to a new style decal and registration. As you probably have noticed, the registration is smaller and the peel-off decal contains the month and year of expiration. EFS (Electronic Filing System) dealers will be issuing the new style registrations by the end of December, 2001. The registration fees increased by $1.00 with the new Decal on Demand system.
